Do you feel that you are in a perpetual state of being in the grind?   Do you know where you want to go and yet you still cannot see the finish line?   Do you want the reward but maybe you are in a season where you are lacking the motivation to do the work required for the big game?  You are working so hard and yet you’re feeling so lame!

PERSISTENCE:  ‘continuing firmly or obstinately in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.’  ‘the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people.’

Billy Graham said, “Mountaintops are for views and inspiration, but fruit is grown in the valleys.”

Every vision is taken into the valley and it is there that so many faint and give way.  It is only those who embrace the valley and persist through the storms of life, that ever get to see their vision come to fruition.

Are you in a ‘valley?’  Abide in the Vine.  Stay connected to the source of life.  Allow the vinedresser to prune and cut off the unnecessary so that you will be able to experience much fruit.   It is in the valley that fruit is produced.

Perspective in the face of persistence is critical to success.   Persistence is not so much a ‘long race’ as much as it is a seemingly nonstop series of short races one after the other.

Stay the course my friend.  Are you in the grind?  Are you in the messy middle?  Are you in a valley?

Hear the voice of God.  “Hold on my child, weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”  Psalm 30:5

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial, because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”  James 1:12
