INJUSTICE
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. – Martin Luther King Jr.
Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are. – Benjamin Franklin
I know there is a God, and that He hates injustice and slavery. I see the storm coming and I know that His hand is in it. If he has a place and work for me and I think He has, I believe I am ready. – Abraham Lincoln
Sometimes I want to ask God why He doesn’t do something about poverty, famine, racism and injustice in the world, but I am afraid of his response, “why don’t you?” Scripture teaches that we are His hands and feet and voice in His world. We are the light of the world.
You may choose to look the other way, but you can never again say that you did not know. – William Wilberforce
Poverty is not an issue of ‘charity’ it is an issue of justice. There is material, spiritual , and relational poverty. We were set in our ‘space’ to make a difference. There are two kinds of spaces…desecrated space and sacred space. It is our job to redeem desecrated space and make it sacred. Justice IS Redemption.
Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
The Bible is a story about justice. The Bible is THE story of God setting things right.
In the words of Lecrae, “If you really wanna be a rebel, read your Bible. ‘Cause no ones doing that. That’s rebellion. That’s the only rebellion left.’
One of the greatest injustices…that 85% of people who call themselves Christ followers have never picked up their Bibles to read it.
Jesus has to work IN YOU before He can work THROUGH YOU.
May today, be a day of redeeming desecrated spaces and making them sacred, all in the name of JESUS.
