FREEDOM FIGHTERS

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…” Psalm 33:12

Some things are worth ‘fighting’ for.  On this 4th of July 2021 we have much to be thankful for and even more to ‘fight’ for.   Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.  1 Timothy 6:12

The fight is not against but for a cause worth giving your life.   I am grateful for those who understood the value of freedom and opportunity to worship the one true God.  To those who have served and sacrificed on our behalf we owe a great debt.   THANK YOU!

The fight is not over.   We live in the United States of America but lately we have embraced a name change of The United States of Entitlement.  We no longer fight for a worthy cause; we expect it and demand it and honestly believe that we are entitled to it.  We have become a ‘proud’ nation.  “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”  James 4:6

May we once again aspire to the opportunity to give our lives to something we believe is worth dying for.  If we have nothing worth dying for then we have nothing worth living for.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.  Romans 12:1-2

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.  John 15:12-14

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Galatians 5:13

Let’s live again.  Let’s sacrifice once again for love and for freedom.

Let’s remove ourselves from underneath the weight of expectation our world would have us believe we are entitled to and lay down our lives for the sake of the Gospel.
