Breathing Life Today Brings A Beautiful Future Tomorrow
C.S. Lewis said, “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
As 2020 ‘ends’ perspective reminds us that it was just a number and will conclude today, December 31, 2020 as the final day on a calendar and it really has no meaning to the brevity of life or what tomorrow holds.
James 4:4 says, “You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”
Proverbs 27:1 says, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”
No one had any idea on December 31,2019 that ‘2020’ would define itself as a year that was difficult. It brought death. It required isolation. But the entire year was not only bad. Take some time to reflect on all the good that came from this year.
Psalm 144:4 says, “Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.”
God has breathed His life into us so that we can breathe His life into those around us. If we have Jesus we have enough. If we have each other and Jesus we are blessed.
Take it in. BREATHE IT ALL IN! Reflect and look forward to 2021 to Breathe His life into a world that is lonely, searching for answers, disgruntled with politics, confused by worldviews, and we have the Hope. “Christ in you the HOPE of glory.’ You are a light in the darkness, a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. Let your light shine before men.
Acts 20:24 is my verse for 2021. “I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
Lord Jesus, let my friends and me finish 2020 well. Thank you that our race is not yet finished. Help us to make 2021 the year of testifying to the good news of your grace!
